Morgan Jones Will

 

I Morgan James of the Township of Newton in Chester County in the Province of PensilVania yet Being weak in Body But Through Mercy in perfect mind & memory Considering the uncertainty of my natural Life, Do make & ordain This to be my last will & Testam: [testament] hereby Revoking & Dissallowing all other wills Testam heretofore made by me, Either by word or writing,- I do Comitt my Soel to Almighty God, & my Body to be Decently buried at the Discrestion of my Executor hereafter named- a Imprimis - I will that all my Just Debts' w [which] I shall ow [owe] at my Decease be fully paid & my Funeral Expences discharged- Secondly I Give & Bequeath To my Beloved wife Mary her Choice of one Cow among all my Milk Cows, and the Best Bedd with its apurtenances & the Mare She useth to Ride on with her Sadle & Bridle[.] I also Give & Bequeath to her my Sd [said] Wife her full [share] of my personal! Estate after my Just Debts paid as afores[aid] Thirdly I give & Bequeath to my Daughter Margarett Lewis[?] one Cow over & above her Equal Dividend of the Remainder of my personall Estate. Fourthly I give & Bequeath The Two Thirds of all my Personall Estate Excepting what is Before Excepted to be equally Devided Between all my Children now living ["now living" written above the line as an afterthought] By my first and Second wife- Lastly I nominate & appoint my sd [said] Beloved [wi]fe & my Dutifull Son Joseph James to be Joynt & Sole Executor of this my Last will & Testem .- I do also appoint my Kinsman Saml [Samuel] Lewis & my Friend Thomas Thomas of Radnor Both of Chester County in ye Sd Province to be Trustees of this my Last Will & Testamt.- witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal dated the Fourteenth day Of ye Third mo: Called May one Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty Seven 1737.
