Will of John McAlister Senior

 

In the name of God Amen I John McAlister being weak in boddy but of Sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be Almighty GOD for the same do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form Following that is to say First I wish to be buried in a decent and chirstian like manner and all my Funeral Expenses paid and all my Just debts. Then I Give and bequeath unto my Beloved wife the third of the Benefit arrising from my Plantation one Bed and furniture one forth of all the profits arising from all my Stock. I do Also give my son Johns
two Children that is William McAlister and Thomas McAlsiter five Dollars Each I Also Give James GRAHAM and family Five dollars and I Also Give James Cannon and family five dollars and the Black Smiths tools I also give My Daughter Sarah one bed and furnature and one half of all the Stock after Mothers part is taken out And I give My Youngest Son James Myers all my real Estate Consisting of one hundred and fourty Acres of Land on the West Side of Hodges and little Bay Branch one Bed and furnature and the remainder of all My Stock of Horses Cattle Hogs Sheep and C (?) after the first Portions are taken out all my Plantation tools my House and Kitchen furnature I give my son James Myers the Cart I want left for the use of the family on the plantation my riding Chair I want to be Sold to Assist to pay my debts and I hereby appoint my beloved wife and Aaron F Graham Executor to this my last will and testament And I hereby revoke all other will by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this 17th day of March 1837.

Senr. to be his last will and testament in presence of us who have
hereunto Subscribed our Names as witness in presence of the testator.
