First I commit my soul into the handsof my God & Creator in hopes of future salvation and happiness through the intercession of my blessed Lord & Redeemer Jesus Christ. I request my Executric hereinafter named to have my body buried with as much decent economy as possible as I always was averse to extravagant funeral expences. I will give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sarah all the property both real & personal which I May have and possess at the time of my decease to her & for her sole use & benefit to enjoy and to do with as she shall think fit and proper to her heirs and assigns forever. But it is my wish & desire that should there remain any part of the afore- given & devised property at the time of the decease of my said beloved wife Sarah, that the same shall be equally divided between the children of my two sons Thomas & Joseph for them their heirs & assigns for ever. I nominate & appoint my beloved wife Sarah to be my sole Executrix to this my last will & testament, hereby revoking & annulling all or any other testament heretofore made by me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal at Charleston the 27th day of december 1827.
